Moral And Spiritual Deprivation of Modern Man

thought-and-art-vitruvian-man-leonardo-da-vinci“Tvamev Mata Ch pita Tvamev,
Tvamev Bandhu ch Sakha Tvamev,
Tvamev Vidya ch Dravidram Tvamev,
Tvamev sarvam mum Dev Dev”.

Ancient man followed the guidelines of these sacred quotations mentioned in our Great Puranas. He was the man of quality and morality. But today man has become too materialistic and preoccupied in the pursuit of possessing material things. Possession of money has become the main objective of every pursuit and the means does not matter. This urge, led to his spiritual and moral aspects ignorant.

Today man is motivated to do anything when he is assured of reasonable profit. He is disillusioned by the western civilization and it has led to an erosion of moral and spiritual values. They mechanically ape their western counterparts in their dress, thinking, mannerism, interest and pursuits and look down upon their own rich cultural heritage. The educational system and parent’s attitude are mainly responsible for this. Educational system today fails to inculcate in young people moral and spiritual value. They fail to pay attention towards their growing children who go astray and start following a path which can only lead to the ruin of the self.

The common man is caught up in the web of poverty, illiteracy and ignorance. After all, what is God, religion or soul to a man with an empty stomach? It is poor only who still vestige some humanism and goodness. The tremendous progress in the field of science and technology has made life comfortable. Man, instead of making science serve him, became his servant. The decision to allow science serve him or to become subservient to him rests entirely upon Man.

Modern man has dug his own grave by rejecting the moral and spiritual values, upheld in the religious scriptures of the world. The Bible, the Adigrantha, the Ramayana, the Bhagvad Gita, the Quran all contains word of wisdom which man ha disdainfully rejected.

Modern man is confronted with temptation at every step. He yields to it, though he may later realize the price he has to pay for that in terms of losing his peace and happiness. The only way out is the spiritual and moral regeneration by listening to inner voice, the conscience, which can never mislead man. The future of mankind is really in the hands of those who can truly bring about a reawakening in man’s higher consciousness.

Interestingly enough, i agree with the information within this Atricle but one thing seems to have been ignored by the writer, that mistakes made in the human form are only a part of the illusion of life itself. One who can truely say I AM is the only one qualified to understand the choices that one makes and the paths those choices may lead one down. Basically all choices are learning curves in humanity and in the soul. The world may change and become great or humanity may make choices to limit the amount of souls that may exist in this world, but as long as there is life there is hope because this world and the people living in it are forever changing via the choices that are made but one thing is everlasting, never changing and always staying the same and that is the human soul. The mind we are given at birth is just a learning tool for our true existence to experience the wonderful creation that is life…
